I'm not aware of a Texaco within 20-30 miles of my house but any BP garage I've seen is always 2-3p per litre more than any other local station.

Near where I live there's a road with two Shell garages right opposite each other. Quite often they're not the same price.

I can't work that one out.

Looking at your location I'm guessing it's the one near the roundabout with the Harvester on it?

If so then I used to work in it 25 years ago. At that time the forecourt heading towards Chertsey was always set a little more expensive because it got way more traffic from people filling up ready to go on the M25 and they preyed on the fact that no one fancied having to turn right twice on that busy road.

It's amazing what an idiot you can feel holding up so much traffic turning right into a petrol station when there's one on your left!

I have never seen anything else that .9 ...

ASDA Wheatley, just off the a40. I commute along there down to the m40 most days so it's very convenient. Totally self service (doesn't even have any staff at all) which I like, too.

Indeed, it was just to illustrate that they're not on different sides of a dual carriageway or that they're not otherwise easy to access from either direction.

That's the one, yep. It makes sense I suppose, it's amazing how people feel psychologically compelled to pay more for the convenience. Personally I'd rather save that £2 and queue for 20 seconds longer
