Can someone tell me how i add an effect to text?

Basically i want "SNACK BOX" obviously in some fancy chunky font, but i want a bite mark out of one or a few of the letters. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks

i know the software to use, but trying to do it by hand proves very difficult, i just wondered if there was another way?

Pic below but need bite mark/s somewhere on the letters

Make a bite selection either by using a freehand pen tool, or using different circles or shapes. I used one of the PS "sun" shapes, and made a selection of 3-4 of the crests.

I then filled the 3-4 crests with white, and just added the shape to a new layer above the font in white.

As shown here:

For a more defined bite, you'll have to make bigger gaps between the crests.

EDIT: You could also search for cloud clipart images and use the rough 3 crests as a bite shape.

I still think something is missing, what do you think? Any inputs or criticism welcome.

I know this is plain and simple but this will be going on the side of a van so nothing too fancy.

Also if anyone can recommend a good printers for vehicles that would be great.

Thanks

really i thought it looked rather good??

The quality has been lost a bit from the original pic and looks slightly out of proportion at the moment.

What DPI are you using? Make sure it's a suitable amount for a side of a van.

PS. Sandwich does look rather pap, as does the rather large stroke on the text, trim a few pixels from the stroke imo, especially on the smaller text.

Thanks for the inputs.

I am not too sure of the dpi i am using, to be honest i was hoping i could just design something and then the printers i go to would develop the quality a little there end.

So now i need to locate a tasty looking sandwich or baguette.

What would a sandwich have to look like to entice you to buy one?

This is all for the missus' mom and her main selling point is fresh ingredients ie. different varieties of breads, a fresh choice of fillings, salad bowls hot and cold drinks. Not your average burger van if you know what i mean.

you need to make sure the document is 300dpi that is what printing companies are looking for in magzines etc. ring them up and check as it may need to be more for a large van sticker.

Thanks Red and White i appreciate you taking time out to give something a try for me.

I do like them sandwiches or should i say Subs ;) . Would there be an issue using a picture of subs?

I have checked and i am using high quality 300 dpi

EDIT: Here was another one just simple black and white

cant imagine anyone can copyright a picture of a sandwich and would they care?

:p

Anything you create becomes copyright of you automatically even if it isnt marked copyright, although in other countries that is required. I.e. that image of a sandwich is copyright of who ever created the image, what it is not is a trademark or patent.

yeah that was just what i wanted thanks.

Is there a way to have text that follws a shape. So that text would follow a semi circle shape if i was to use a circle. I cant seem to find any options in fireworks that will allow me to do this. There is skew and distort but they aren't what i need.
