Text priority setting on Huawei p8 lite

This is annoying us -we both have Huawei p8 lite phonrs (different years) and whenever I send her a text she gets an explanation mark next to the message. This apparently jeans high priority but neither of us can find a priority setting in any setting. A search suggests some phones do have such a setting.

I cannot find anyway to change MMS / text priority on these Huawei phones? Am I missing something? Both SIM cards have been used in various phones so this may be a historic setting.

Can't speak for a P8 - but on my P20, if you go to their contact, at the bottom you've got a Star symbol that indicates they're a 'Favourite'.

Also, I'm pretty impressed that it says Favourite instead of Favorite.

Makes no difference. We both have each other not set as favourites(sad!)

mine is set in google contacts, not on the phone (if you use that) when I have a new phone, they are already favourites.

If I list my contacts on chrome on the PC, it's easy to add/remove the favourite star from each contact. Probably just as easy via the phone anyway
