I remember a friend showing me one day this service. He recorded a song for a few seconds off the radio and texted t somewhere that came back with the name of the song.

Does anyone know the name / number of this service! got a song that's bugging me!

Yeah I used this about a year ago. IIRC it is the numbers down the middle of a phone keypad, so 2580. I think its called shazam or similar.

Damn it's good. I have two phones. I played the clip from one phone into the other while calling them.

They got the song easily. The quality was awful and the volume really poor (taken in a club) and they still got it!

Yes they would. I've even seen a tramp come into burger king to pick up one chip on a table that someone had left. And i would pick up even 20p. Even 10p actually.

Get over it... Ofcourse a tramp would pick 50p up... i certainly would.

If i don't know the name of a song i usually try to remember a line of the lyrics and google 'em when i get home.

Exactly what I do.

Regarding the 50p thing: In my world that's a hell of a lot of money to be spending on finding out a song title!! I love music and I certainly wouldnt call myself tight either, it's just in no-way essential to my way of life. I think it pretty much sums up some of the public today, all with massive debts etc - as tesco's puts it - Every little helps! Everytime I choose not to us that service and spend an extra 5 minutes (if that) googling a lyric I save 50p...

But then you probably go and spend 79p downloading it on iTunes.
