Hey guys,

I have two Acer GD245HQ 1080P monitors, one connected via dual link DVI and I've just connected the other with a HDMI cable, the text on the monitor connected with the HDMI cable is slightly blurry, the text on the monitor connected with the Dual link DVI cable is perfectly crisp.

I'm running the HDMI monitor @ 1920 x 1080 (native) 60Hz, the only setting I've changed is to max out the overscan slider so the image fills the screen.

Using a HD7950

Any way to get the text crisper/sharper?

Thanks. ;)

Some monitors apply different processing to different inputs. I found with an older screen I had that had both DVI and HDMI inputs that the DVI was way sharper. Then I worked out that the screen was applying a "Sharpness" filter to the HDMI input. So, played with that a bit and managed to get the image the same as DVI.

hang on... have you maxxed the overscan slider on both monitors? or only the HDMI one?

any settings you need to play with will be on the monitor, not on your PC

Just the HDMI one, AFAIK the overscan option is only available to the HDMI screen.

I'll have a gander through the monitor settings.

Switch the wires over and see if it's the monitor or the wire playing up?

If I switch the cables over then I get the same issue on the other monitor so I don't think it's a monitor issue, I also don't think the HDMI cable is faulty as I would have thought it would either work or not work.
