Text to Speech software

Got some software called BBK and it does timing for model car racing. The built in text to speech engine isn't very good as it reads out numbers etc.

Any recommendations for text to speech software?

Festival is the standard from what I'm aware.

Cool I'll look into it. Ideally due to it being a club free is alway better, but if it doesn't do what we need someone will have to spend some money

Festival is free under the BSD license

Yup just looking at it at the mo

The software we use is www.bbksoftware.com - but isn't free - bloody rip off
