I've tried looking on the orange site but it confuses me so i thought i'd ask here.

My girlfriends is on orange PAYG and has gone to Poland for the week. I'm on an orange contract. It costs her about 40p to send msg's to me, but how much does it cost me? Are they part of my bundled texts (student tariff) or am i paying seperately for them?

Normally internation txts arnt included in free txts...well they arnt on my O2 contract! :(

If you're sending to an UK orange phone (or indeed any other UK phone) it'll cost you exactly the same as normal (or be taken out of inclusive texts)

really? just wanna make sure of this because i read on the orange site it was 19p. I'll explain again.

I'm on orange yp120 student tariff (1250 texts a month), im in the UK (duh..), my girlfriend is on orange PAYG and is in germany and poland this week.

so it just comes out of my bundled texts? NEED to make sure cos i dont want a 50 quid bill come the 17th :p

I'm sure. The 19p charge is to send to a german/polish mobile phone, not a UK phone in Germany/poland.

Same thing with call charges. If you call her, you'll be charged standard rates (or taken out of bundle) but she'll be charged for recieving call (there is no charge for recieving texts)

It will definitely come out of your bundled texts if she's on a uk phone.

 Does this mean I can call Leon in the Dominican Republic on his O2 phone for standard rates then? I understand it'll cost him, but it might be cheaper than him ringing me.

Yep, or certainly that's how it works on Orange, I'd imagine O2 would be the same :)

You will need to check how much it will cost him to recieve the call though, it can vary between 30p/min and 70p/min on most networks.

I assume you thought about VOIP (Skype,MSN etc) but it might also be cheaper using Skype to phone as well. Either Skype or mobile to mobile to confirm he's in his hotel room (and not out partying ;) ) and then Skype to his hotel.
