Texting from IPOD possible?

Hello

Was wondering if there were any Paid apps out there (like per month) that can enable you to text from the "ipod", as my brother only has an old cell phone ATM that doesn't do AIM/Email etc.

only ipod you can text/internet from is the ipod touch via wifi.

sorry wasn't more specific, yes, its an IPOD touch 32 . So could the recipient would need Wi-fi yes?

you can access the web and send messages through that, or email through the touch, no different than using a PC.

Obviously depends what you are sending - email or sms, they'll get what you sent naturally.

Well,found a site that enables you to send AND recieve Text via Wifi, its called Touch2TXT http://www.bulletin.net/index.html seems ok so far on the free "80 pence" they started me with, anyone come across this? - is it cost effective? (I think it's 8 pence a text).
