Texting while driving.

i often see people txting and driving, it makes me so angry
i think as more and more phones become touch screen you will see less of it happening

Yeah I hate this, i dont even like people reading texts while Im in the passenger seat. but when they start texting back, I tell them to stop, Dont always listen like :p

Never text when I drive, never used to take calls either.

Got a new company car with the whole in built microphone and all that jazz and can pick it up by tapping a button on the steering wheel so I now have no issues with taking a call.

Still dont text and nor do I make calls either, though saying all this and acting all saintly I still do fiddle with my I-Pod to change songs

Changing or creating laws in the U.S. is a very difficult process. A lot of serious injuries or fatalities have to occur and then be proven to be the fault of a driver who was texting. It is crazy, but Americans make a major fuss when rights are taken away. Mobile phone manufacturers or service providers probably have high-dollar lobbies in Washington just because of this. So States are trying to do a little more all the time to help prevent accidents, and I think there was a national law passed recently that makes it illegal for truckers to text and drive.

Its worse when they are drunk and txting.

every customer in the bar where we play pool drove home after drinking. They just dont see it as big of a social issue as we do over here.

It should be extended to cover drinking soft drinks, operating the radio, touching the sat nav or looking at your passenger also.

It already does if an officer doesn't think you're paying enough attention.
