I have been very indecisive on which finish to use on my case mod. I thought that matte would make it look a bit too plasticy when the aim was to keep the metallic finish, and satin would't really look too good. However, I realised that all the PSUs I've reviewed that I've really liked the aesthetics of have used a textured paint finish, so perhaps that would be a good idea. I've picked out a good option (I can also just buy them from a shop which will make the process a lot quicker and cheaper too) that I'd like you to take a look at:

I think this has the potential of looking either amazing or terrible, what do you think- is it too much? There's also the consideration of areas such as the motherboard tray and PCI slot area where there is the concern that this paint could interfere with things like screw threads and the like. Anyone ever done anything like this before?

Not sure how it would look but if you go ahead make sure you mask off any screw holes to avoid clogging up the threads. Use either some cut masking tape or silicone sealant that you can push out once dry.
