Anyone have any ideas at all as to why i have no ground textures? Instead i get a multicolored mess.

I installed some MODs today, and then launched oblivion. When i got outside i noticed the problem. As a way of finding out what was causing the problem, i uninstalled each MOD one by one to see which one was causing it. As it stands i have no mods installed now, and im still getting stupid textures!

Any ideas guys?

The mods overwrite parts of it. So unfortunately it looks like they've nuked your textures, and you may need to reinstall it.

It appears Oblivion and mods = Lots of installing.

Back them up first. But from memory where I uninstalled a mod my saves still worked. I just got a warning message saying if I saved again I'd lose stuff - i.e. it'd save me without the stuff from the mod.

Right i see, cheers. Might the problem be because i installed the Natural Environments mod? If so should i be ok installing this after i have re-installed?

save games are held in ?/my documents/my games/oblivion.

when you uninstall manually delete the bethesda folder as that holds last game data too. you need to remember to back up your screenies though.

Ahhh, i don't think i took any anyway.

Installed all the mods again and its working fine, just havn't installed the .exe file mods, as they install everything automatically without asking if you are sure to overwrite. That might be what caused the problem.

It looks like you installed some texture mods and they ovelap with oblivion basic textures. I had the same problem, In my case, I have a spare fresh DATA folder for oblivion, just for these situations, just re installl oblivion it sorts it out, then patch it and take a copy of your data folder.

I see you sorted it lol. A handy tool for you: http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2097

It tells you if your mods conflict :)

Only worry about the ones in red

Cheers for that, i had the old version but didn't know i could check for conflicts!

There a few highlighted in red, and even more in their sub-directories. Should i be worrying? The game seems to work fine at the moment.

Some highlighted ones include official add-ons

Yeah I think Beth announced somewhere that its official plugins overlap with the Oblivion.esm but its nothing serious :) I noticed, if theres less red conflicts, oblivion wont crash as frequently! Try to root out mods you really dont need, or what are on red conflicts. It aint game breaking but you want a non crashing oblivion, dont you lol :p

no need to worry about red conflicts. it just means two different mods etc are using the same data/textures etc etc.
if you see glitches, corruptions, broken A.I, broken questlines, ctd's etc thats when you have conflicts.

just ensure that when you install a mod you read the "readme". any decent mod will inform you of conflictions and recommended load order.
