I've just built myself a new system out of a pre-overclocked i7 bundle from Overclockers.co.uk and running Windows 7.
I used my ATI HD4870 that I bought last April again in this build. I'm a big user of FS9 (Flight Sim 2004), but now I have a very annoying problem of shimmering graphics in the game. All buildings, fences and other objects have a permanent shimmering problem.
I never had this problem before with this graphics card. I've tried loads of combinations of AA, AF and loads of other settings in the CCC to no avail. In flightsim itself I've disabled AA, and turned mipmaps down to 4 (which helped slightly, but previously I was able to run at mipmaps set to 8).
Has anyone here got any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
One question I have is that if I disable filtering in FS9 (set it to 'none'), should the AF settings in CCC take over? I ask because when I disabled filtering in FS9 the graphics were truly shocking. I'm wondering if the CCC is working at all when I see this happening.
Thanks in advance.
