TF2 and Portal

no-one knows about Portal because it hasn't come out yet. TF2 is great fun. much more... dynamic than CSS. there are different classes, with very different strategies, and you respawn 20 secs after dying.

Do it.

TF2 is like HL2:DM, but far better. Its really fast paced fun, you can play as 9 different classes, all of which have their own weapons / skills. And portal is basically fun with a 'portal' gun, its a puzzle game.

there has been a trailer around for portal on steam media for ages, have a look at it, and tf2 is just pure multiplayer brilliance

Portal is a puzzle game, just basically getting from A to B in different ways using 2 portals.

TF2 is a teambased game, more so than CSS. Without a team in TF2, you are basically screwed. Its very good, but if your very use to CSS and have never played a TF game, then it will take some getting use to and takes time finding the right class for you.

Yeah TF2 is great fun, it's nice having all of the different classes. I never really got into CS:S, but TF2 is good so far.

Still not settled on a favourite class though.

Heavy, Engineer and Pyro are my favourite :D

TF2 isnt finished yet, still being limited by the fact its in beta - there's apparently more game modes and maps to come, but whilst sometimes frustrating, its overall one of the most *FUN* games I've played in a long while.

yeah, engineer pyro and the 3 i mentioned are the only ones i've played so far, i always prefer the specialist classes. i'm a bit annoyed about the spy though, it's a bit of a dud class no there is no team damage, as you just shot a round or two at anyone you meet.

i think they only way they could possibly balance this is to give the spy say a 2-5 minute time limit (map size dependant) in which they spy can remain disguised, in which time he cannot be harmed by the enemy, after he becomes un disguised (through time running out, or the spy killing someone) it would take 1-3 minutes to recharge (again map size dependant). this is the only real way i could see the spy working 'well' without being to over balanced or under balanced

im undecided on classes as well in tf2. i do LOVE being a spy dressed as an enemy engineer, running around while the enemy set up their turrets.......they never suspect an engineer.....

i also love how each class is COMPLETELY different from another, it adds a whole lot more depth to a game which most observers will just think of it as a crazy deathmatch with no tactics.

The orange box is a good buy mate (if you don't already own most of the games).

Watch some in-game footage for TF2. It's hard to sum up. It's just a unique online FPS experience basically :) (You can just get TFC or FF but this has its own little nice touch) You'll most likely enjoy it.

No one knows what portal is exactly. It seems to be a puzzle game involving teleports you make to get through the levels. It doesn't seem very exciting to me, I'll see.

If you like HL2, you'll obviously enjoy the new episodes.

Peggle is also great! I bought the deluxe version I liked it so much :) It's a great little game to play whilst you're cooking some food or something.

ok thanks, my steam only downloads stuff at 1-9kb/s, so if i buy the box i should be ok right?

You will get all the same games in the retail version that you do in the Steam version. No-one really knows the exact date for the retail ones though. I think it will be the week after the Steam release or at least Friday of next week.

Lol maybe at first but I dont know anybody who doesnt suspect an engineer :p
I shoot every engineer I see as its the most common class for a spy to go.

going sniper is my favourite spy class.... obviously as most of my kills as a spy are snipers too busy lookin through their scopes to notice the sniper next to them isn't shooting very much :)

personally i prefer the soldier... maybe the most normal class but u cant beat simple killing :)
