TF2 Clan?

After playing with windle (on TF2..behave :p) i feel it would be a good idea to get a TF2 clan/team together? I have only ever been in CS 1.6clans so unsure about matchs on TF2, however i wouldnt mind getting a bunch of people together and just having a few friendly games against other clans and see how we go from there?

In a clan like this would each person have one specific role? e.g im mostly soldier, so i would be that or just swap roles?

Anybody else up for it?

mainly play as heavy/sniper now
but normally get great results with engi/spy

more of a defensive player
 
Most matches are played in 6v6 format, the classes you use vary on the map youre playing.

Often you'll run with 1 or 2 scouts, 1 or 2 soldiers, 1 medic (the limit is one) and a demo or heavy. If you have people that are exceptional with the sniper they could be used instead of a demo/scout. Its very different to public play ;)
 
Wouldn't mind playing a few games with you ppl providing obviously I can make the times :D btw Im a proper noob!! had the game about 3 days.

Sounds like an intresting way to play. Do you know if there's any public servers that are 6v6?
 
No engy on maps with intelligence?

I'm guessing leagues are instant respawn? 6v6 seems a bit odd, TFC used to be 8v8. I guess it could be better though.

Not many 12slot servers no :/ most people prefer 24slot servers for general play etc.

12 players on a pub server can get a bit quiet but 16 players a la TFC style is usually fun and not too crowded.

If you want to experience what a TF2 clan match is like without the effort of starting a clan and entering leagues, you should try a pickup game :)

Quakenet IRC - #mpuktf2.pickup for pickups :) Youll need to be registered though so they know who you are because they track your skill etc and the bot tries to balance teams skill wise. If you fart around too much or ragequit from matches then theyll ban your ass :P

TF2 seems to play more like a Team Deathmatch game if you ever played much Q3 or UT or something so 6v6 often means 12 people in the same place :P gets busy enough.
 
Respawn times are default or set to 10 seconds, never instant. Sometimes an engi is used on ctf maps but usually only if the opponents have good scouts, if not then a solider/demo with medic will make short work of a turret.

As andr3w said, possibly. Without sounding big headed, I'm a very good Heavy. Pretty good Demoman and Pyro and an OK Sniper.
 
I can give you some tips if you need but I can't really play for yous.

It is a lot different from public. I would definitely advise playing some pickups first as Phal advised if some of you have never played 6v6. Scouts are so much more important.

btw, who do you play for Phal? BIA? What leagues they in...?
