TF2 + dual core?

I have an AMD 64 3000+ currently. I bought it because the dual core stuff had recently come out and was expensive. However, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - OEM is only 45 quid!!!!!

The only game I really play is TF2 (orange box stuff), so does TF2 make use of duel core? I never kept up with the news about it since it never applied to me...
If it doesn't I doubt I'll bother upgrading it yet.

You won't be seeing both cores maxed to the extreme but yes you will gain benefits from dualcore in Source with the latest updates - your lowest FPS should increase and your average fps should be more steady.

More cores = more L2 cache, more L2 cache = good and the 3800 also clocks well.
