Pfft I've seen you spending hours on end idling on achievement servers.
IIrc valve put in measures to stop that, maybe there's more secret ones that reduce your odds even more for using them?
Yeah, idling doesn't increase your chances anymore. Everyone has a drop cap now, I think it's a weekly limit. The more you play the less chance you have to get a drop, hence sitting in idle servers will give you the same chance of getting a drop as someone who plays 6-7 hours a week.
