I've removed the sm_nextmap plugin, looks like it had a few bugs..

hopefully the arena maps will no longer bloomin' load!

Looks like the stats plugin isn't working correctly atm.. wonderful.
I'll take a look at sorting it out after I've eaten tea :)

Game nights anyone?

Good news, I got ahold of Moomin and got rights to the OcUK group. I don't seem to be able to promote people, so I'll talk to him about promoting you two when he gets out of his game.

So, the question is; when do we want game nights to return!? I'm going to assume that we all want game nights, because while we are all showing interest in our spanking new TF2 server, we are completely hopeless and disorganised.

So speak up, what nights and what time?

I love the idea of a pre-defined game night, but I seem to have naff all time available at the moment - I've only actually played on my own server twice so far :/

I'll let a general consensus decide a specific day of the week, then try and make time to join you guys :)

Has anyone noticed if the changes I made last night have prevented the Arena maps from loading?
 
Maybe we should just start some random events in the evening and see what catches on.

I can set up an event for tonight, at say, 9? I don't know what peak playing time is, I need more input boys.
 
I'd recommend setting up a new steam group as well tbh - get as many people on board as possible and if you can get the group ID you can make the server appear in game to people a little easier.

....I guess it probably doesn't work quite so well as group servers in L4D but...y'know..
 
Is that necessary for TF2? We have over 1000 members in the OcUK group, an event and an IP would be enough wouldn't it? I dunno, I'll leave it to you guys. I'm just really itching to get a proper OcUK game going :p

I thought that the admin of the current TF2 group was AWOL? If they could be contacted to allow someone to post events/etc on there it'd not be an issue (and would obviously be better than re-starting a group).
 
Oh wait, I didn't even know there was a TF2 OcUK group untill now.

I'm talking about just using the OcUK Group instead of a TF2 group, I thought that was what we were all talking about. If people want a dedicated TF2 group, then someone go for it. There are only 70 members in that other group anyway. Personally, I think using the main group for events (seeing as it hasn't divided anyone, and has 1200 members) would rally more people.

We already have a TF2 group here.. Also Oxy is still about so we should be able to get someone promoted to post events & stuff. (edit: sent an email pointing him to this thread :p)

Posting an event up in the main OcUK group would be a good idea to get things going. I've been playing less TF2 so only come on for a quick blast around 10 normally, so I would rather join a full server than mess about with a few people on each team - that's why it's important to spread the word and make the server popular with people not just with OcUK :)

Sorry to sound like a noob but someone on the OcUK server just brought this app to my attention: Steam Achievement Manager - Is this actually classed as not cheating? The guy/gal on the OcUK Server said it's legit, but it sounds fishy to me :(

tell me who you want to add to admin for the group and i'll do it.

I would also like to help admin the server if I may.

well.. it's a grey area :p

you're not actually achieving anything by using it, and you get the unlockables before you technically should..

but it's no worse than farming on an achievements server really.

personally I wouldn't use it, I like to think that completing the achievements makes me a better player - for example, finishing people with the shotgun after setting them on fire. Without that achievement, I'd probably still never have used the shotty as a pyro :)
