TF2 Patches ?

Just installed tf2 after a long time, how many patches are there ?

cant remember at all, and while its updating at 30kbps i gave up, so im gonna update manualy from a different site

anyone know what the names of the patches are and what ill need to download ?

Well, it depends how long ago you last played it. Theres been updates for Medic, Pyro, Heavy, Scout and the latest update which included updates for Sniper and Spy. Then of course there is various other updates that fixed/changed stuff along the way.

Personally, Id let steam do the downloading, if its slow like you have experienced, leave it going over night or something, at least that way you know you are getting the correct/legit files.

last time i last played, your talking about a year ago

downloading them off steam at, 30-40kbps

is this the same for everyone ?

I'd let Steam handle the updates personally but I find that if I get bad d'load speeds, pausing and restarting the download sometimes ramps the speed up a bit.

normally steam maxes out my downloads on a 8meg line

I thought that if you were to redownload the game now, it would download the most up to date copy rather than you having to go through downloading incremental updates.

I may be wrong though. :rolleyes:

If its downloading slow, just exit steam and start it again. Its normally fine then

Have you set your internet connection to something of a decent speed?

You could always try changing your prefered download server to another country where everyone is likely to be asleep and see if that gives you a better speed. I forget exactly how you change it, but it should be obvious when you find the option in the menu somewhere.
