Basically ATi can be very happy with the showing from the 2900XT 
Beats out the 8800GTS in higher resolutions with Stacks of AA in place! Waits for the source engine favours the ATi card brigade! CLearly showing ATi's AA path must be doing something right in the source engine

CLearly showing ATi's AA path must be doing something right in the source engineI must admit fine results for the 2900xt but more of a case of something badly wrong with the 8800 GTS cards when 8 x msaa is enabled.
At 4 x msaa both GTS cards beat the 2900xt and we won't mention just how badly the GTX and Ultra are out ahead on their own by miles even at 8 x msaa...........
More a case of a glitch with the 8800 GTS card drivers tbh cause their performance shouldn't be hit by that much.
But ATI were in similar terrority waiting for better drivers so no different for Nvidia owners.
