Tf2 - Premium servers? Wut?

Seen a few of these recently.
Some of them have stupid features tbh.

Just wondering if they are safe to play on, are steam aware of them?
Some fo the "features" to me seem pretty much nigh on hacks tbh.

Indeed. Whenever I see a server advertising membership bonuses/donator bonuses, I check their website to see what exactly is on offer. Most of the time its kick protection, slot reservations and so on, and I have no problem with these servers, its good that they earn their money some way. But there's always some that offer slightly less value. Ranging from faster respawns to more health and obviously broken weapons. When I find one like this I just check the server name, filter by name and blacklist all of that communities servers.

Its not hacking, as its all a serverside variable, but its deffinately not fair for people who play on them. The only option is to not play on them.

I don't mind servers that offer kick protection, and reserved slots so much, like the GTFO servers where I play. £7 for 3 months reserved slot on all TF2 servers is pretty good And at the end of the day, servers are not cheap.
