TF2 Rates?

As far as I know the game client adjusts the data it sends based on the rates you give it, it's meant to compensate for a slower/problematic connection.
My rates for CS 1.6 were
rate 25000
cl_updaterate 101
cl_cmdrate 101
My rates for CS 1.6 were

3 settings

cl_updaterate 101
Basically these determine how many times u send commands or stuff updates to the server i guess in simple terms. If your on broadband and not lagging i would use the above settings.
Increasing the rates will improve how your shots register to the server.
You can sometimes lower the 3 settings to lower ping. but it will lower your registering accuracy. Some people lower settings to the point they look laggy on other peoples screen and other ppl register less on them, to cheat i guess.

Oh, it's just when i bought a few servers from a few companies they stayed at 66tick. must have changed now with frequent updates. I still can't imagine why you'd need 100tick in TF2 anyway, unless of course worrying about reg is a problem for you. Heck, it's not Source.
