Ok since OCUK forum has decided to promote TF2 I wondered if there are any players still out there who play QW:ET?

Our clan kronos1 has decided to play QW after several years of WWII (not due to any dislike of TF2 but simply because there was a freely available demo of QW) however are there forum users who play TF2 only because of the surrounding TF2 hype on this site?

I got the qw demo, and i disliked it, i generally don't like all these future guns and stuff, for me, its ruins the game, i like DoD CS:S and BF2

i got orange pack because everyone on ocuk said it was good! I got it, wow it is :p I still play my other games though!

Played the demo of QW:EW and didn't really enjoy it, meaning I went to TF2 and have never looked back!

The thing with fps's these days, is that developers are wanting to turn them into more of a simulation, TF2 has noticed this and turned the gfx into pixar like animations, with characters that almost certainly don't exist in real-warfare, which makes the game fun and playable for hours :)

ET:QW is ok but as said the futuristic feel just ruined the game, same goes for BF2142.

I tried TF2 after all the hype around the forum and actually did enjoy it quite a bit. The pace is a bit too fast for my liking though.

Much prefer ET:QW, TF 2 was over-hyped and not much fun.

Stole ** wording frippy :p, but seriously ive only played TF2 3 times since buying it and can honestly say i h8 it, cant hit didely squat with the guns, for me ET:QW is far more fun and can kill ppl till the cows come in.

While I don't get much time for gaming right now, if I do, its to play ET:QW.

Have tried TF2 on several occassions and just can't get into it.

ET:QW has great pacing, great maps, and just "feels" right. Yeah, there is a major learning curve, and the selection of weapons could be better, but that does not detract from the fact that it's fun to play.

PS - Oh, and kind of like the futuristic aspect of it myself.

I prefer QW as I find the dynamics of a round change allot more than TF2 due to combining large outdoor spaces with close quarter indoor combat. I find that the rounds and maps in TF2 sort play out the same. I would play both if it were not for The Witcher taking so much of my time.

TF2 is an excellent 'pick up, play, laugh, put down 15 mins later and come back to it when you like' sort of game. ET is one of those games that leaves you utterly lost at first but as you learn the tricks of the trade it becomes quite rewarding.

The general public, and at present including myself, seem to prefer the former type of game.
