TFT Dot pitch... Important or not...

If we take four different size monitors, the dot pitch could be as follows:-
15" - .294
17" - .264
19" - .285
20.1" - .258

Now I must admit I have the choice at work of using a 17" TFT or a 15" TFT and I prefer the 15" as I find it easier to use, with everything being a bit bigger, and therefore easier on the eye.

My concern is with a 20.1" screen, which has the smallest dot pitch there is, it would be even more painful on the eyes than a 17"... At least a 19" is in the middle...

Anyone had experience of a 19" & 20.1" ?

I had a 17" and a 15" and now I have 2 20" and I prefer the 20"s. How can you say a 15" is much easier to use you barely get any desktop space! Perhaps you need glasses to read smaller text ;)

I wasn't referring to desk top space...

I have infact dual 15" monitors. I have the option of dual 17", but find the 15" ones easier on the eye due the slightly bigger nature of everything being displayed.

It's also interesting to note than I've noticed quite a few people running 17" monitors at 1024x768 instead of the native 1280x1024 because of this very issue.

yeah, they often dont seem to care that the desktop looks horrid due to scaling of a non native mode and I get moaned at for setting it proper ;)

Those same people ofton forget the dpi option in windows to make the text (and everything around it) bigger.
