Hi guys, at this point in time I am using a Hyundai TFT (8ms 700:1 contrast), which is fine for most things like web surfing, the odd game, and maybe DVD's depending on film. But now I am beginning to get fed up of the annoying video noise showing up in films like fifth element and star wars, that it is making me think that a new screen may be in order.

I have looked through the TFT section on OCUK and I have seen some good deals, but are they too good to be true? So I need some help (your opinions) on what deals/monitors you think are best to suit my needs for watching movies.

I also like to add, I am a big fan of watching HD-DVD's, and if I am going to purchase a screen, I would like it to be future proof enough for HD content.

Budget £270

Thanks guys

some of these have had over drive issues. if its on you get negative ghosting its fine when off though. apparently there has been a fix now but the one i got was an October 06 model and has ghosting. im going to RMA it when i get a reply

Do you have any idea with regard to what manufacture date the good ones came in?

So back to topic. What TFT's are best for fluid movie playback similar to that of a CRT? Does it depend on the response? The type of panel? TN, IPS?

in the modern market MVA based screens offer the smoothest movie playback when it comes to noise / twinkling etc. Response time is adequate on most modern screens, so things to consider more are viewing angles, black depth and panel uniformity i would say.
