TFT for PC & Xbox 360

Well I think I'll get one and see how it goes can't afford anything past £250 at mo what with having to buy parts for new PC promised the missus I'd keep to under £1000 all in so always chance to upgrade later on if need be.
Thanks

I use the 22" belinea! Excellent screen although it only has a single vga socket. I have to use a KVM to switch between my pc and 360.

Fabulous quality - you wouldn't be disappointed!

Alternatively, Iiyama's 22" is totally identical to the belinea (same casing) except it is black and has a dvi socket as well as a vga!

Have you also got a 2007WFP, and do you notice the lines on default (50) contrast settings? It's just that you only really see the lines on the 2007WFP if you start taking the contrast above default. When I first read about this problem I posted several times in a thread here that my 2007WFP didn't have the problem at all, until someone posted to try turning up the contrast, and then I saw it. So it's such a subtle thing that I didn't even see it on default settings.

I think on the 2007WFP, contrast isn't meant to be used over 50. You'll see as you turn it up the whole colour range gets dramatically compacted and completely ruins the picture, and it also brings out the wavey lines to the point where they are obvious, but like I said earlier, I had a 360 connected to a 2007WFP for months and never noticed the lines at all on default contrast settings. It could be that contrast works differently on different LCDs. On my 2nd monitor - Samsung 172T - I couldn't see the lines at all no matter what settings I used. On my LG 32" LCDTV I can just make out the lines. It must be something to do with how the monitor treats the signal - maybe some screens amplify an anologue signal which would exagerate a poor signal.

There's a few people on the console forum who seem to know all about this problem, so maybe ask them. There was a thread about it here but I can't remember what it was called. Try searching for 2007WFP, 360 and VGA.

Cheers.

I do have an 2007WFP and i have left all the settings at the factory defaults. In fact i bought this panel just for the 360. In the end i just bought a high def TV because i was unsatisfied with the monitor.

As you say maybe some monitors amplify the analogue signal more than others which exentuates the poor quality signal. Either way i still think its important to address this to anyone who thinks about buying a TFT for the 360. If i had known before i placed the order i would have never bothered.

I'd agree that while the 2007WFP may not be causing the wavey lines, it does show them up more than many other screens, although I personally didn't find them noticeable enough to be a big problem. On a side note, I've also bought a HDTV (LG 32" LCDTV) for my 360, not because of the lines, just for the extra size and not having to play the 360 sat at a desk. It's much better than using a PC monitor I think - much brighter, better colours, 1:1 pixel mapping and being able to play the 360 in comfort

I guess its down to personal preference wether or not you choose to live with it.
It was also a good enough excuse for me to buy a TV. The bigger screen size, better colours through component and being able to sit back and play adds up to the rest of the reason to buy one :D
