60Hz is the highest TFT's can do As far as I can remember.
I can put mine to 75hz but It looks crap and the monitor shouts at me...

Is that even on lower resolutions?

Just I play some games in 640x480 (cs 1.6, don't ask i just do as it's what i am use to :P ) just wondering if any monitors can go higher than 75 in that res and 800x600?

TFTs dont really need a refresh rate as they dont flicker, hence why the rate hasnt went over 75Hz as of yet.

If your looking to get a TFT then the response rate and viewing angles are the ratings you want to be taking note of. Or if your after it for one specific purpose then different panels perform better in different areas.

TFT's run at a "recommended" and "optimum" refresh rate of 60Hz. They can normally do up to 75hz as a "maximum" but sometimes are limited to certain resolutions and by whether it is VGA or DVI connection. It's best to run them at 60hz as it doesnt operate in the same way as on a CRt. Have a read about it here: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/specs.htm

should help :)

The answer to your question is basically "no".

Some people will say that you don't need higher than 75hz, but the fact is some people can tell the difference between 75fps and say 120fps. Therefore when gaming at high framerates they would like a high refresh rate to match.
