Basically have managed to break my TFT monitor and was wondering if it was ok to open it up
The problem is when I turn it on, it powers on screen flashes and goes off, it does this continuously. Only started doing it after I snapped the stand but this was fixed, usually after a while it comes on and it's fine and won't turn off, but today I have left it on for 2 hours and it's just continuously flashed.
Any ideas
Thanks sam:mad:

If you snapped the stand off have you damaged one of the inputs on the monitor? If it allows for HDMI/DVI/RGB then try all of them if you can.

If it comes on and works for a bit then I doubt there's anything wrong with the screen itself.

Im not sure but the monitor is old and it only has VGA but im certain it isnt that, as usually after a while it will come on and will stay on...and display image on the monitor.

What monitor? Sounds like a dodgy capacitor in the power supply. Quite common and really cheap and easy to fix if it is.

Get it open and look for any bulging/leaking capacitors and replace any that you find.
