Hi

Just wanted to run a little problem past some of you more knowledgeable sorts. My Iiyama 481 is about two years old and last night while surfing it just went blank (black). I couldnt even get the on screen menus working (ie to adjust brightness) so I thought it must be the monitor, and not a video card problem. I switched it off and back on again and couldnt get a signal or On screen display at all.

I was all set to look at a replacement today, but when I turn it on this morning and its all working fine again. I'm a bit confused as to why this would be - anyone experienced anything like this?

Many thanks in advance for any advice,

Cheers

Sounds like summats loose inside the monitor. Cooling down would have allowed it to go back to where it was & therefore work. (Heat expansion breaking connections)
New monitor time methinks.

Yea does sound like that doesnt it - cheers mate. I think Iiyama have a 3 year waranty so I'll give that a shot too. Intermitant problems are a bit difficult to prove/disprove though...lets see how they respond (would have to be easter wouldnt it :) )

Update: Hasnt happened since, and have left monitor on for a good few hours now. Phoned Iiyama and they said that TFT's can overheat and this may have been the cause. I wasnt too convinced but they said if it happens again they'll swap it out.

Cheers
