Hi all,

I have a webcam at home which I access when I'm home over my LAN, but I checked and can access it from the web!

I double checked and there is definitely no port forwarded to this webcam device on my router's "Game and Application sharing" menu. In fact I only have one rule (a NAT & port forward rule) and it's for another webcam and works perfectly as it should. This router seems to just be allowing port 80 access straight to this device without any configuration to tell it to.

Any ideas gratefully received, it's puzzling me

+1 to UPNP. Have you tried changing the camera so it uses a different port? I know that doesn't help with the router but may be better short term to stop any unsolicited access.

You're bloody right!!! thanks lads!!

Wow that is an unsecure option to tick!!!! I will be honest I've never looked into what it did and I'm 99% it was on by default.

Just hope taking it off won't affect my Xbox Live connection quality/latency!?

Xbox Live uses UPnP. You'll have to port forward.

Do you mean port forward to my Xbox now as I've taken off UPnP? If so, that's no drama I can manage that.

I just hope these settings will be configurable on my new router (Just ordered BT Infinity with a homehub 5)
