Yeah the game has dodgy framerates.

not quite

the game world isn't streamed quite as well as GoW for instance :(

You'll see this when you move between areas - City Park/Main Street/Capitol area is a cow for this :(

Well yes. But you can also see a massive difference in graphics, duh!

Um, I wasn't comparing graphics between the two I was solely refering to the framerate, which in my opinion (and probably others) is more important than graphics. Obviously if the X360 cannot cope with such grahics, settings or such, it shouldn't be running them. If anything the framerate SHOULD be far better/higher while increasing graphics overwise there isn't much of a step forward. Most games released on both PS2 and X360, tend to to have nicer framerates on the X360 (eg; COD2) this is the first I've heard of the PS2 being smoother like I said ealier I played the demo which felt fine to me so I've not had first hand experiance with the full game so I am taking everyones word for the framerate issues.

Looking at the graphics they aren't much different, ie the PS2 version doesn't look THAT bad (I run my PS2 over component, which is a HUGE improvement over composite, the image is sharp and not blurry like it is with composite)

Obviously the X360 is going to have better graphics we are comparing a 3.2 GHz system which is about one year and a half old (< feel free to correct me if I am wrong) to a near 7 year old system that's clocked near 300Mhz I don't see why the X360 can't output 50/60 constant frames-per-second and not drop for 3-5 seconds to whatever framerate it does. Also note THP8 is quite a fast paced game so the drop in fps could result in a bail. I used to play Quake IV at my friends which was a dire framerate (this might of been his X360 though, I never had one back then and he sold Q4 for a PC version) it was at a point were the sound became choppy, felt like it was being rendored by a Stella for this reason I recommended the PC version, since the computer I have is half-okay it ran the game flawless.

Had Quake IV of been a better experince at my friends, I would have probaby of bought it since I enjoy gaming on a larger screen and don't usually game much on the computer, this became an exception. Basically I don't care how great the graphics are, if the framerate isn't I'll play it on a different console/gen.

However the fps drops are probably down to devolopment and not the X360's capability.

BTW I am not 'fanboying' here I like both my PS2 and X360 just as much I look at both ends and see that all consoles have good and bad points thought I say that to prevent any flaming.
