Hi all,

I'm getting heavily in to my Thai food at the moment but there don't seem to be any good Asian grocers near me for picking up authentic ingredients, so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places to order online (there seem to be quite a few).

Cheers,
Tom

Surprised Edinburgh doesnt have an asian cash and carry in the vicinity. What kind of ingredients do you need?

My local one closed down a while ago, but I've just found out about a couple across town so will try them out first.

I've used http://www.thai-food-online.co.uk/ before.

They have a decent selection, although there have been times I've placed an order and haven't received certain items, such as fresh lime leaves, with no warning they weren't in stock. The didn't charge me which was fine, but would have been rather annoying had I not had some dried as a back-up.

Cheers, was looking at them.

http://www.royalthaisupermarket.co.uk seems cheaper for dried stuff but they don't carry fresh produce.

you can get most things in a normal supermarket

Mmm, I'm yet to spot mangosteens, betel, banana leaves, thai basil, dried fish, grachai, fresh tamarind, fresh peppercorns etc.

I've been to the branch in Glasgow. Didn't have the hugest selection of ingredients, but they had the basics. Lemongrass, thai basil, galangal even green peppercorns and pea aubergines. Might be worth a shot.

Ah, nice one. Not too far from me and wasn't coming up in my google search.
