i was on anandtech today and decided to take a peak at there for sale forums, ive often wondered about the security of their system as they have no trust system for people to go on... well, this would appear to be the result...

take a look at this...

theres bloody hundreds of them!!! conmen left right and centre  !

so i say thank god for the Trust system...

Got to add, I really value the Trust system here, had 1 problem but as soon as a Don got involved was resolved v quickly. I buy a fair bit, havent got round to selling much yet (and have a bedroom full of kit!!) and I would rather buy off here than from most shops - people just dont want to risk loosing the right to buy and sell and are always helpfull. Thanks all, been a pleasure for all but my wallet :D

the worst thing ive had is someone recently missold me a hard drive (its got bad sectors) but they may not of checked for them, but i can live with that.

I've had one slight problem but it was all sorted and it was all smiles after so both me and the other person were happy :)

I don't hear of too many deals going wrong here though, but I suspect there is the odd 1 or 2.

There's only so much we can do in a situation where people are potentially scammed. We can email them at their registered address, and suspend them if no reply is forthcoming, but beyond that we can't do much else, which is why we try to heavily emphasise to people in the MM rules that they need to get as much personal information from the people they are buying/selling with as possible.

What irritates me about the MM is the ridiculous offers people put in. Some nubs aren't happy until you're giving it away. I've not used it in a good while, most of my gear will go in the Scot-Ads or local bbs.

omfg taken from that site.

Cabrera, Chris, aka koghep. Lives in Missouri City or Richardson, TX. Very poor trader. Used another's monitor for over a month, making excuses why money was not sent while trying to sell it to others. lol
