Hi,

I did as some of you know install ubuntu 8.10 a while back as i was absolutely fed up of windows. I then had some problems with my graphics and a few others that forced me to go back to windows.

Well... after seeing the linuxmint post , i decided it was time to try that and WOW!

Everything works perfectly including my graphics. I personally think linuxmint is better than ubuntu as it seems slightly more polished in areas and runs just as fast.

Very Happy!

yeh good for u. I moved from suse to ubuntu, then mint when i was a n00bie. Linux does seem more polished, but is basically the same :P

When ur settled into linux, depending how far down the rabbit hole u wanna go, you could try arch linux or whatever :)

Alt-F2 -> type gconf-editor -> apps -> nautilus -> desktop -> edit trash_icon_visible -> true

It's an ugly operation I admit. Gconf-editor is rubbish IMO.

Billy bows twice, kisses hands, and extends them to the audience

Billy: Thank you all so much!

Billy bows again, noticing the pile of audience-flung roses growing ever-higher at his immaculately-polished shoes

Billy: Good night, good night everybody!

Billy exits left

:p
