First post, but I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that posts advice on builds to this forum. Have been contemplating building my own for a while now, but it's only the hugely useful advice on these forums that gave me the confidence to go and do it. Rather than start yet another spec thread, I've been lurking around assembling my list.. and last night all my bits arrived. Three hours later I had a fully working PC with OS installed. Genius
Turning it on (third time lucky) and seeing something actually happen is a fantastic feeling.
Things I learnt along the way...
Cable ties are your friend
Plan what's going where before you start assembly
Always plug in both ends of a power cable
If you've got a 10 year old helping, double check their work
It's not as scary as it looks
Next steps:
Go back in and tidy the cables a bit
Find a temperature monitor program I trust (Everest and Speedfan give me different answers)
Learn how to use Vista!
If you're interested:

4Gb Geil PC6400
