These days i very often think how bad it used to be for my mother at christmas when me & my sister were very young as she used to be a nurse before she retired and of cause had to work every year on at lest some these days Christmas eve, christmas day, Boxing Day, New year eve, New year day.. :(

Yep my wife's a district nurse and she's driving round to loads of patients tonight. She says it's non stop. She's also working on NYE.

Wow. When I was on shifts I worked one or the other but not both. The bosses, of course, worked neither.

Spent the early hours of last night getting the gas supply back on for two out of three of the main feeders for South Wales.

Luckily no call out throughout the day.

But feeling like *****, I've got the worst cold/ flu. Every exercise/ work activity is hard labour

Purely out of interest, are the sorts of injuries coming in different to the usual? Less RTA's? More burns or cuts?
Yes, it definitely seems that way. Quite a few coming in with ankle, wrist and elbow injuries too, where they've taken a tumble at home. Although, sadly, my first job today was to transport a woman who passed away in resus to the mortuary, and what made it even worse is that her family were there too. :(

Tomorrow might be a busy one, as all those who didn't want to ruin Christmas Day by going to the hospital will turn up.

Get lobbying ocuk to allow blue light card discount or free shipping :-). A certain competitor allows BLC, Probably because the multiple hundreds thousands ££ spent with them on USB pens, hard drives and pre builds every year..... Once on the approved supplier list, any orders are easy to be invoiced... A lot of effort to get new suppliers added internally.

Christmas ruined for a couple of years anyway. My Uncle died around ten years ago on Boxing Day and my Aunt died a few days ago too.

Tbf, its worse than that... Click that one, it jumps to the £30 off. The £50 is gone. I presume they pulled it.

Best BLC is Asda, 10% off your shop. I've saved a lot over the last couple years.. They have now extended it again until March

Still bloody waiting for my physical BLC to be delivered. They posted it the worst time possible, 16th of this month right before Christmas and during postal strikes.

Toby Carvery is OK too, 20% of the bill.
