Same.

True movie enthusiast will get a dedicated BR/HD-DVD player with a full B&W 7.1 set up, Pioneer amp, and REL woofer. They are not going get a PS3 or Xbox to play films.

Only once stand-alone BR players come down to around £500 or so (and this will only happen when the software has increased dramatically), until then I think most will go PS3 route for movie playback.

I am certainly interested in this route come march - initially thought of adding a BR writer to an HTPC, but thought better of it. And while I will play a few games I am more interested in the av abilities of the PS3.

Already have an aging 5.1 setup being fed by a 1906 amp (including an old REL Storm sub :D ) but all of this needs updating once I have the PS3 - possibly with a 1080p projector

of-cause it's lossless because there's no compression - he meant they could have used lossless compression. I think it's abundantly clear that in that particular game they have uncompressed everything though, not for any particular performance advantage, but just so they could say 'this game would not fit on a dvd'.

Along those lines, metal gear solid 4 is supposed to use the full 50GB because of all the extra 7.1 audio tracks hideo kojima has added.
