The 0704 Number Scam

Just had a silent call from an 0704 number, I tried ringing back on a VoIP but I just got number not in service. Upon checking the code on google it's a redirect number, it can redirect you to international or premium rate numbers which would cost you a fortune.

So people beware.

Also a 0709 version of this going on they call and a short recorded messege going "Can you hear me. Can you hear me" plays then hangs up.

I ignored it as unless i know the number calling i wont ring someone back if something like this happens.

Just to correct my topic title, it's infact all 070 numbers which are used as 'personal' numbers.

There are no numbers that can divert you to a premium rate line and transfer the prmium cost to you.

You can only be charged at the rate of the original call - If the number (a personal mobile number - google for 070 numbers) diverts you, it is that person that foots any premium rate bill.
