just a quick one, I have £100 to spend (give or take a tenner) and want to know what the best card is, from my own research, I feel that the XFX 5770 HD is the card of choice of this price range due to performance/money/warranty value but my question is, Is there a hidden gem of a card for this price that i have missed?

Hi Max,

The HD5770 is a decent little card and will be under you £100 (+£10) budget, I have had one and it dealt with most games fine at 1650x1050.

Sometimes the HD5850 go for £125 at OCUK and also the GTX460 should be another card to look for, I got one from here for £112.

Now I know these are slightly above your £100-£110 bduget but these are better cards, just my thoughts, shop around and see what you can find, but if nothing turns up the 5770 will be ok.
 
At those resolutions the 768mb GTX 460 will be great if you can find the extra, I sold one second hand (4 months old) for £85 on here last week.
 
:) Keep your options open, some people won't buy second hand and of course you can't access the Members Market yet but if I was you i'd definately hold out for the GTX 460.
 
Or a silly priced 5850 - stupendous card for £125 - though the cheapest around right now is an XFX at £139.99..

You can also find a £125 GTX460 1GB if you look hard ;)

What do you need to get on the members market? 250 posts and 3 months?
 
Save a bit and go for either the 460GTX or the 5850, this will futureproof you a bit more incase you decide to go higher resolution or more graphics intense games come out.

But I do have the the 5850 for sale. I also have 2 twin frozr II models as I went crossfire/trifire then switched to gtx 580s :)

ewarwoowar I'd pick a TFII to match my current R5850 but I also don't have the 250 post count yet :S so not sure if I'm allowed to even ask to buy it from you lol but if you still have one by the 25th of this month (payday) I'd nab one from ya for sure :)
