If your overclocking one card to get it close to another then its fair to also overclock the other . Simple stuff guys you compare stock to stock or overclocked to overclocked .
LOL what? We are not talking about reviewing a card. This is just a guy who can get his GPU within 10-20% of a card that is a top tier card that would have cost him £150 to £200 more. And he is happy with that. I owned a 1070 and in the Pascal Owners thread several people were very happy that their 1070s could be overclocked to get very close in performance to the £200 more expensive 1080 and nobody had a problem with that.
I don't know why you guys have issues with this. For example, I have seen people ask advice on this forum about graphic cards. And people sometimes wonder should they buy card X or the more expensive card Y. And a lot of the time the advice is Buy card X as it can overclock close to card Y.
And it's been like this since nearly the beginning of GPU's. People pushing their cheaper, lower tier cards to try and reach the performance of a card higher up the range.
