Yea can't compare treadmill to a good hill. Just wish there was something nearby I could use.

Couldnt be assed tonite, got home from work and kids being a pain, shocking tea, felt like ****. Will do deads tomorrow instead

I could probably match all my previous lifts already (they're not high numbers) but after spending the better part of a year in various amounts of pain I'd rather take it slow and be sure.

I know that feeling! It's good to see you posting in here again :)

Thankfully my wrist wasn't bad for more than a few days after the gymrats meet and I have been increasing the weights pretty steadily.

Tough deadlifts + set tonight. Did plenty of back yesterday and squats on Monday so no surprise I was struggling with deadlifts tonight. Bar kept moving forward which eventually meant I was in a bad position to pull. Never mind, got a respectable amount of reps and I'll do better next week when I'm not training 4 days in a row.

Here's a video, as you can see, form was meh.

Hamstrings a little tight today?

Nothing terrible going on, just not as sexy as usual.

Yea had some tightness and doms from squats on Monday, made things hard keeping tension in the right places. Next week should be better. Can't do much about the hex plates, I have to shuffle forward every few reps.

The best solution to hex plates is to deadlift in the power rack. Put the bars in the lowest position and the bar will sit a few cm above the floor even with 25's on. It makes the bar slightly easier to lift but there's nothing to stop you standing on something to counter act the advantage if that bothers you.

Makes so much difference as the hex plates cause havoc mid set and you need to re-adjust.... does my box in!

ok seriously anyone got a remedy for cut up shins on dead day? Ill shave my legs, wax em i dont care im sick of all the blood ffs!!!!
I have a very visible line up both legs from my ankles all the way upto mid thigh!

Deadlifts wreck my shins and RDL's and heavy BOR's take all the skin off my knee's and thigh.... not to mention ripping all the hairs out lol!

I have the same, it looks like a line of bruising up my shin. It's probably not going to go away any time soon, I think I've had it for years.

It goes well in my collection of gym body art along with the callousy type skin on my shoulders from squatting.

Cheers!

For your grip get on some heavy (more than your deadlift max) static hangs for time, they should have some tasty carry over to strongman events.

agreed thanks, that is my huge massive weakness and after seeing morbas account of strongman, i need to work it. gonna spend my days with 100kg db's each hand! i think overload static holds will really be the key. Im not bothered about dynamic grip as its not a typical strongman thing but static hold is huge. so thats my new one. ok im setting new challenge (ice u will love this) 300kg rack pull static hold. Video entry only. think im at 1 sec right now (thats a lie i can probs do more than 1 sec).

That's pretty huge! I'll definitely be up for testing this. I assume you mean pulling literally just off pins rather than an 18" pull or whatever...?

Completely agree with leaving dynamic grip out of training, whether or not it has any carry over (I don't think it does!) static stuff works so effectively it doesn't matter.
