Quick question guys, sorry I'm not a regular poster in here, but when doing dumbbell lateral raises I sometimes get a 'click' at the front of my right shoulder. Does this mean something isn't right? I'm deformed?
Just realised I might be asking for medical advice...I'm not!
You're only as deformed as the rest of us
It
could be a slight destabilisation of the AC joint, which may or may not be worth going to see a physio about.
However, most of what a physio would do in this case is release tension from what are probably tight pecs and make sure your rotator cuff and back musculature is working properly. That lot is actually quite easy to do yourself.
- Stretch/soft tissue work on your pec for 5 mins every day for two weeks (most problems stem from tight pecs)
- Stretch/soft tissue work on rear of shoulder, above and all around your scapula, and soft tissue work literally on your scapula. If it hurts, you're in the right place.
- Strengthen your external rotators and encourage better scap mechanics with face pulls (also an awesome mass builder for the shoulders) and YTWLs (videos in OP of form thread).
Allow me to ignore most of that delusional rant and those false accusations.
What I foresee being your continued problem here is the rather strange way in which you feel you can give advice. Reading an article on the internet does not qualify you to assume knowledge of the subject. Sure, you could make suggestions and discuss or ask questions about what you've read, but when you post about about it with certainty it is confusing for people who don't know better. People (myself included), don't like this.
Unfortunately, you have built yourself a reputation here. The regular posters know how much knowledge and training experience you have.
If you continue posting in this fashion you will find that people keep reacting to you in the way they are. For my part, I will continue to point out that what you've written is incorrect while expending as little energy as possible. Why? Because it is not my job to educate you personally, but I do feel that people casually reading this section deserve to read decent information.
