*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Hahaha that cat picture cracked me up! Bought the £75 deal from MuscleFood last night, should be here Friday... I don't know where I'm gonna store it all!

Let me know how you get on with this. Ill be trying this for the first time come pay day.

Splitting 20kg of chicken breast that is just above freezing into 2 breast portions is not a fun job as I discovered the first time I ordered a load! Frozen hands and chicken goo everywhere!

I know them feels.

The countless chicken i get for the lads at work and have to separate them. Even worse when you have to use tin foil because you run out of bags and the tin foils caught under the frozen chicken and you need a speedy microwave defrost. Forever picking :(

Does the meat come frozen or chilled from MF?

If it's cooked you can refreeze it as you're changing the protein structure by cooking it, and also killing the bacteria. Freezing it will just be cooked frozen food. You'll still need to defrost it to eat it, but it'll just be like re-heating a "ready meal".

It's not ideal, but should be fine. :)

I meant defrosting ithe uncooked lump then refreezing?

Will probs just cook it all. Feast!

Boom, I have been asked to write a fortnightly column for both a local and regional paper regarding fitness.

Fitness Article - Kai

First one - a little about me :o not sure how I should play this!

I suppose 90% of the general public wont have a clue if I start talking about national breakdown, training methods etc.

Any ideas? next up they want a little about diet

No :o sorry not had much time on here lately, been more or less eating LARD to become a fatty boom boom!

seen the fb picture, didn't realise you had adopted a different approach. Will catch up on your log now.

Tell them maximuscle is amazing and makes you look buff as anything in a few weeks of taking it, you may get a big big cheque from them and a sponsorship with them then...

And if that does not work... I lose my sponsor - play it safe ;)

Tbh I guess it depends how you want to play it? I would probably start by debunking a few myths and give some more general advice.

I suppose part of the fun is that most people who don't live under stones are aware that they should be more active, that they should hit the gym, play sports, etc. so will probably think "yes, that is really nice, but..."

What is it about fitness that gets you excited, kai? What was the original premise? What do you feel YOUR journey has done for you?

Into this, you could begin to debunk myths about fitness...

- Eating healthy: "no, that protein shake is not 'roids... it's just food."
- Being active: "no, that class won't get you a flat tum unless..."

Etc...

You could have a huge amount of fun with this. :D

Thing is if he writes protein shakes are just food, a lot of people will probably dismiss the article as the marketing/broscience have made everyone think they are a magic potion for bodybuilders.

The whole lift for a better body vs cardio is a hard one to displace as well.

I suppose its getting people to understand that it's a lifestyle adoption/change and not a fad, as its a slow and steady journey.
