*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Every training picture you see of Arnie he looks awesome. No bad shots ever. Just awesome.

Indeed

Look at that waist... just so much better than any of the current HGH bloated monsters imho

I never realise how tall he is. Well always forget.
As a side point, all those on CBL. Just saw the back of my milkshake powder tub (asda cheap banana flavour).
Typical values per 100g:
Carbs 96.4g
Of which sugars 94.6g

Just start scooping it in as powder?

Be warned. It turns your wee yellow...

Rather irritatingly, the scales I used to calculate my BW pre-CBL prep stage, are bust, so the initial reading was probably wrong.

****.

I weighed 12st 2lb 8 days into the prep. stage. Any estimates of what my baseline carb level will be? I don't have a low percentage of body fat.

Extraordinarily frustrating.

Edit: The BW to carbs calc. at the back of the book estimates me to have a baseline of 595 carbs. Meanwhile, the 'faulty' scales suggest I may have only lost 1-2 pounds (!!!) in the prep stage, which would give 182g.

182g v 595g. Quite a difference :/
In after Syla5, but yes, go for 300g and you'll be fine.

I shall also call you tomorrow, I wish to hear tales of your CBL adventure.

Thanks for your response, ended up sitting at 230g-ish and ate in one session beofre 9pm, it was mighty!

Think I might pass on more carbs this time around and just finish the evening with a cheeky shake.

Eating such a quantity of carbs definitely takes some getting used to. In fact, starting off slightly low will give you some feedback on how that feels so you can adjust better later on.

Anyone else read his autobiography Total Recall?
I don't usually read autobiographies but i think his is pretty damn beastly.

Just finishing up last few chapters, i thought it would be boring after he retired from bodybuilding but was pleasantly surprised.

Nice going. You will defo need more. I am starving today (off day) even though i have eaten at least 2k cals. Need me some carbs, roll on 5pm tomorrow.

I shall have to read the CBL ebook in full tomorrow. Those that are (which seems like nearly everyone now) do you do any other PA separate to lifting? Would it be wise to do everything together as apposed to spread throughout the day?

Damn stoodles I thought that was a cryptic post at first, bit tired when I read it haha.

Happy birthday mate :) such a young-un still :)

Yeah I've just got up to the point he's getting serious with Maria. Like you, was pretty sure it's going to be rubbish once he gave up bodybuilding, but it's still good

And cheers brosephs :D <3

Arnie. What a guy!

I have a question to the CBL guys. So, I started the prep phase yesterday... Good god, this is hard work!!! Battling the morning hunger is so hard after conditioning yourself over years of having regular breakfasts day after day... Lots and lots of tea seems to be helping?! I've never really gave coffee a shot but I have bought a jar and will see what happens!?

Anyway, I digress.. I'd like to shorten the prep phase with some HIIT. I was thinking of doing some fartlek training. Do you think 3 x sessions made up of 5 x 30 second sprints with 2-4 minute walks in between will be enough to accelerate me through the prep stage?
