I've not even done 5k miles since I got the car.

But my GT86 is currently on 31.9

There is a bit of town driving on my way to work, otherwise it could be a lot better. Low 40s is do-able if I don't have to stop at traffic lights etc.

All depends on the journey and how I drive - surprise  - but a longer journey taking it easy can see almost 40mpg, or a shorter one with a B-road blast can see it dip below 30mpg. R56 Cooper S.

Mine just reset itself, does it automatically after 10k I think?

Anyway, here is my fuel log over 45k miles -

I don't use the trip computer but after 12900 miles my Focus (2.0TDCi) is showing 49.1 MPG on Fuelly.

When I used the MX5 more regularly I used to log that and got 32.5 MPG over 10800 miles.

Clio 1.5dci is at 60.4mpg for last 4000+ miles on trip computer. Merc a180d is at 55.3mpg over the last 6400 miles, the wife has destroyed that one though as it was just over 72mpg until she got it for the last 1600 miles as she only does small trips. Have got a few pictures where I've managed 90-99.9mpg over the daily commute when challenged to do stuff on the a class forums.

My Octavia VRS (petrol) is at 38.5 mpg after 12,000 miles which I can't complain about - mainly low traffic 30 min drives to and from work though.

That's why the question has been asked for the average over 5000+ miles. It eliminates the short term variation from spurious short or very long journeys.

My problem is its either a short journey or a longer one, nothing in between. So probably about 33MPG overall.

My C63 resets from the 'start' of every trip and also has a main reset,

Only 600 miles since I reset mine average 20mpg

I feel better now.
Thats only that high as about 700 is motorway where i can do 24-25mpg. IDrive overreads by 1mpg anyway

Last tank was 15mpg. 183 miles on a tank

I sadly don't have OBC proof, but I do have an Excel sheet comprehensively detailing ~60k miles worth of fill-up records if that's admissible? :p
Overall averages : 23.48MPG on LPG; 11.37 pence/mile.
