Pluscarden Abbey, just outside Elgin, home to Benedictine monks since 1230AD...

Channel conversion to B/W in Photoshop, then several curve adjustment layers. Been practising a fair bit with these, your opinions on its effectiveness are more than welcome

Very nice shot actually, the only thing i can touch on is that the left of the shot looks a little dark. Thats probably from the curve adjustment and the shadow from the cloud but overall i love it

I like it a lot

The contrast between the light and dark areas really suits the building I think.
Just started messing around with B&W shots myself, I like the way it can totally transform a picture

Very cool, but two things bother me. You've clearly darkened/brought-out the sky, but in doing so you've made the roof much darker than it should be. It looks slightly odd.

Secondly is the angle. There's just something that doesnt seem right in the horizon line. It seems wonky, but isnt? :confused:
