I have no great love for the original, I watched it once and thought it was pretty forgettable to be honest.

Sequel has decent reviews so far though

Just out the cinema and it was brilliant. I was a bit concerned it might not live up to the first and I am happy to report i was not disappointed. Practically grinning from start to finish. These types movies are superb , similarly like the Equaliser and Jack Reacher. Great chemistry between Ben Aflick and John Bernthal. Will defo watch this again. Solid 8.5/10.

Does much accountancy take place this time? I was very disappointed in that aspect from the first one.

I enjoyed it. Not as much as the first one though.

I really enjoyed the development of the characters, and I suppose it had to have a meaningful storyline.

The quip about his brother now going to enjoy the bar was gold!

First film was very good, sadly this is not.

First was essentially a serious film with some light comedy sprinkled in, Affleck played a very straight/cool character with th odd quirk. This 2nd film he;s morphed into rain man, its just not the same. Its trying to be a comedy with a very limp unrealistic story. I watched an hour then turned it off because I didnt care what happened.

I agree with this. I thought the 2nd one was "ok", but affleck didn't seem able to portray the character the same way as last time. Even his voice tonation was different. And the 1st one was full on action film, this one was a mismash.

I though Jon Bernthal was good, although he's basically the same character in everything he's in, so you either like him or not. Otherwise this was sub par.
