This thread contains a list of the websites designed/developed and/or maintained by members of the OcUK community.

If you would like your website added, edited or removed then post in here and I'll update it for you, as long as it meets the forum rules located in the FAQ, especially the following:

No promotion of business interests

You may not promote any website or business you have a financial or other interest in, or use the popularity of this community to help build one of your own. The forums are here to allow people to freely share knowledge, not provide them with personal financial gain, or free advertising.

Obviously any website that is considered to break these rules will not be added to the list.

It would also be useful if people point out any websites they feel break any of the rules and any dead links so that they are removed as quickly as possible.

Beansprout is also kindly working on a separate website for listing the OcUK community websites. More details in this thread or you can visit the website here - Still under development.

Indeed, thanks. It would probably help in keeping it dead link free if the owners of the listed sites could request removal of dead sites too. :)

PS - I'll try to be a little bit more proactive about keeping this thread tidy. While I won't do it every day, or even every week, I will occasionally try to remember to clear out old posts. :)
 
EirePlane - Yours is an empty index, so I won't add it. EDIT: Although, it looks like you're installing WordPress, so if you get a website on it I'll add it.

Seek - There are already forums linked in the list so I'll add yours. Going on what Dried Graze has said, though, I'm not sure if other forums are deemed to be competitors or if it's because he has google adsense on it. Maybe Berserker could clear this up?

OK, here's my guidance on the subject, barring any ruling to the contrary (I've asked for confirmation):



  1. If you're just linking to a forum to plug your forum, then that's a no.
  2. If you're linking to a site that contains other stuff, and a forum, then that's probably OK.
  3. If your site is ad supported (i.e. you use ads to cover costs, that's OK). Good examples of this would be free uploaders.
  4. If you are just out to make a profit, that's again a no.
  5. And finally, if your site breaks the forum rules (competitors, swearing, etc.), then that's a definite no. For example, please be careful with sites where people other than you can add content - e.g. blog sites, as these are prone to swearing etc. being posted.

My take on what you've said is that my non-commercial parenting site could go into the member's sites list but I am not permitted to link to it by way of a sig, n'est pas? The list is just that but a link in the sig serves no other real purpose than to plug it, correct? If this is the case then this would also be true of many other sigs too?

Sorry, I was switching my webhost over to another webspace provider. Must have looked within the ~60 seconds it took to install wordpress. It's all up now
