Just sat here working listen to "The Collection" album forgetting how fabulous they really were/are.

Was just wondering if there were any other fans here, i saw them in their new form in 2001 at the Jones Beach Theatre in NY and they had this new boy on guitar, Derek Trucks. Son of one of the original drummers i think and he absolutly blew me away but he looked like he was having no fun at all  .

Also i just thought am i one of the only ones that thinks of The Allman Brothers before Top Gear when i hear Jessica? :p

thoughts?

You really should be listening to bands from your own time.
The Allman Brothers are for old codgers like me and Big Kev (in fact Big Kev is too young).
I had a few albums in the 70's but they didn't exactly do it for me.
I was more into Molly Hatchet.

I do, but i like a lot of stuff from 70's to Electronica. I'll give anything ago, granted i'm swayed in the 70's direction. Mostly because its what i grew up listenening to, cant forget the roots.

Jessica rocks. Loving 'Every Hungry Woman' atm..

Yesterday I had a live DVD come through my door which I've been waiting a long time for. The band in question are called TROUBLE and they are a mix of Sabbath, UFO, Budgie and a lot of Thin Lizzy - esque twin lead guitar sounds.
I recommend the 1990 album Trouble if you want to listen to them.

Big Allman Brothers fan here  travelled to the states to see them a couple of times too. Pretty much inspired me to pick up guitar as a nipper.

Warren Haynes has his own band called Goverment Mule if you know them? seen them a few times too he also has a live solo album out (Live at Bonaroo) with a few Allman covers, a few of his even a bit of Johnny Cash, U2 and Radiohdead make it onto his album.
