The Almighty Packard Bell BV IMEDIA MC 2470

I kinda wish I was you just to know the joy of upgrading from that.

It's Physically Impossible to upgrade it's parts, but I plan on building another PC, if you look on my account, you can find the other Thread.

(It's a horrible PC, but It runs Fallout 3 and Skyrim at mid settings)

Oh I know, I meant upgrade in the sense of a new computer, not parts.

Out of interest, does the board support the early Core 2's? Because they would offer a titanic speed increase and make the machine perfectly serviceable for a few more years.

Even the E6300 at 1.8Ghz is a faster processor that the Pentium D. You could pick up a first gen E6700 or something for literally pennies...maybe a fiver. Even if the machine never did anything other than browse the web and play older games it would make a big difference.

I've never tried, but It can Support Pentium 4's and an Intel Mimic that runs 0.5GHz but that's only for MS-DOS
To be honest, I don't Plan on doing much until I build the New One

the fun is in the challenge. do the upgrades and overclock if possible, it would be quite interesting and entertaining to see what it can do :D

Later, I'll take a look, but I will only ever buy GTX Titan X's :O (Also OC'ing on this board is like trying to fly with your ears)

There is nothing can be done with a Pentium D. It's hot, it's under-powered, it's slow.

If the board supports the 1st gen Core 2's, then that would be a viable 5 quid upgrade that would make a big difference. Maybe spend another fiver on some more DDR2 ram.

Other than that, it's end game for the machine.

I've had it since it came out, I love it still, and it's been with me working 100% and I've not cleaned it, no wonder there's 3 inches of dust!!!
