*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

IGN used the benchmark tool in the game. TPU use a custom in game scene so the results are not comparable.

Maybe someone with BOPs 6 can test their 7900 XT(X) at 4K native using the built in benchmark tool.

That's correct. No reviewer uses the in game benchmark tool for cod because its rubbish

I'll install the game later today and do a 4k extreme setting in game benchmark on my 4090 later today to compare it, would be better though if someone with a 7900xtx or 7900xt does the test

Ok so I've tried testing BO6 with that in game tool at 4k with the Extreme Preset. I noticed DLSS was on by default with the extreme preset, so I had to manually disable it, and I'm not sure if there is anything else I need to disable

I got 97fps, so I guess the 9070XT is faster than a 4090 in this benchmark, unless the settings don't quite match

Man, gotta say these AIB designs are so gauche. ASRock Steel Legend and Powercolor cards are passable, I suppose...

Even the power colour cards look like cheap nasty plastic. The AIBs made some real nasty stuff when it's low margin mid range cards

yeah they will have to swallow low margins on the entire line-up because of competition so i assume some cost-cutting exercises will be conducted
looks like a vega launch all over again, too costly to produce for the performance range it offers, but no support from crypto mining this time

Found this. Honestly I don't know how much stock we can put in the ign article as it almost seems too good to be true, but seems like performance is right around the 7900xtx level. With cod liking amd cards I certainly don't think this means we're going to see anything like 4090 performance in other games, but 4080 certainly seems possible.

Again though there's something that's not sitting right with that ign article, for as much as people have been begging to see performance numbers, no one else seems to have noticed it.

You know Nvidia’s marketing for high margins on GPUs has worked, when we have consumers calling £450 - £500 mainstream GPUs “low margins”. I can guarantee you that these GPUs will have at least 40% profit margins. The fact AND could reduce the 7900 XT(X) range by 30% costs shows there was considerable margins for them to adjust. Do you think they made and sold every GPU at a loss? Nvidia are even higher profit margins and people think “but moar features”.

The fact AMD tried to follow that trend and ended up with 10% market share shows what their “not a budget brand” ideas got them. The last time they didn’t “compete” at the higher end they had the 5700 XT at $400 and it kept them ~30% market share.

Frankly if anyone thinks £500 for a mid range GPU at third of fourth tier is “low margin”, then they are part of the problem. Have we really just now accepted that ~£500 for mid range is where “competition” has got us?

It was lost in the noise a few pages back. One game is not enough to make assumptions as you say but I would say it at least helps validate at least 7900 XT or above type performance.

isnt BO6 AMDs' best scenario though v 4090?

Sucks that FSA4 is RDNA4 exclusive. Not going to gain any friends and they need all the friends they can get.
Especially since Nvidia have stated DLSS4 will be available for all RTX GPU's

9070 (NOT the XT version)

Even original IGN article never said XT from what I saw.

True, but the screen shot just says "rdna4 gpu" so I feel like it may be wishful thinking. I'd rather assume they meant 9070xt and be pleasantly surprised, than get all excited for an even more powerful card, that might not exist :P

None xt now that's promising when you look how it compares to the 7900xtx in that game

Just need to start seeing more games
